a few of these have come out sounding much more 'pop' than expected or intended. part of the process is about embracing the cosmic flow of ideas (thanks, jack dejohnette) and not rejecting something that comes along by imposing (what i think of as) my identity on it.
i also find that the instrument i'm playing and even the room i'm in will shape what the song comes out sounding like.
all of this is to say: i thought this, like, my cbc song. listening back, not so sure.
lyrics
someday
will you give it up
you're stuck there
haven't you had enough
it's up to you
you're thinking
of what could have been
you're drinking
too much again
what are we gonna do?
you've got to know
everybody's going through it
we don't like to let it show
it's not just you
obsession
with yourself
it's out there
everything else
how will you make it through?
you're feeling
so all alone
rejecting
your perfect home
you got to choose
take it from me
if you're committed to the darkness
then the light won't set you free
you've got to know
everybody's going through it
we don't like to let it show
it's not just you
masquerading as an empty shell
you don't know what to do
but
i think you do
